Visible Roots
2 at No Nation, 2022

I showed “Visible Roots 2”, the second installation version of “Invisible Roots” in this group exhibition through a video installation. Two videos from the “Touching Game” series were projected onto fabrics, while the film “Invisible Roots” was projected on the wall inside the fabrics. Photos were also displayed, creating the illusion of eyes looking at each other, people, or into the void, with a small gap between them.

Through the performance series with my mother, I aimed to share and experimentally demonstrate our presence in a moment where the past and present become one, where time and gravity lose their significance, and only mutual trust, pure contacts, and touch exist. In today’s society, where communication and relationships are crucial, I propose people have power and importance in the human community and encourage them to feel experience similar “timeless” moments that my mother and I shared. It presents communication methods that transcend time and space and offer a reflective approach to surviving in a capitalist society.
